My friend, Che (The Book Bitches), told me about this book. Now, when Che likes a books, there’s a 99% chance that I’d enjoy it too. She’s the one who steer me towards The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons, and The Tea Rose, The Winter Rose by Jennifer Donnelly. I think that if you read books, then these are three stories that you mustn’t miss in this lifetime. Thank you for the head’s up, Che! I only say 99% because for some reason, Che does not like Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Now, I think this book is awesome! But she doesn’t think so.
Okay, back to Mermaid’s Kiss. I bought an ebook version in kindle. I love mermaid stories, along with angels, and dragons and fairies, too. When all of these elements are in one book, how could I not read it? Jonah is an angel who fights the Dark Ones for a long, long time. He’s starting to feel like he’s one of them. In one of these battles, he lost his wing and fell, right into Anna’s arms. Well, not really, but close. Anna is a Daughter of Arriane. She’s isolated from her fellow mer creatures because of this stigma attached to her.
Jonah is depressed and fast losing hope. Anna makes it her mission to bring this angel back to light, but first, she’ll have to figure out how to get him away from the Dark Ones, attached his wing, and heal his spirit. I love the battle scenes. As a recent sci-fi fan of movies like Star Trek, I enjoy the battle scenes in this book. I get so engrossed with the story, I sometimes forget it’s fiction. This is also a very erotic book, but it’s not erotica. Just erotic. Overall, a fun and entertaining read. I love, love, love it. And since I love this one book, I’ll have to go and get all of this author’s other books. I don’t want to miss a thing.

I should tell you that i’m thinking of rereading OUTLANDER. I know! I’ve only read it once like 50 years ago, maybe this time now that i have different views i’d like it? But i have a few books i need to read first. I’ll definitely tell you if i read it again.
As for AMK, you already know it’s now one of my favorite romances ever. Joey Hill has yet to disappoint me. I’ve read her vampire series. I loved them too (of course i’m utterly loyal to Jonah so can’t say i cherish them more than the angels books). I thought i wouldn’t like her vampire series because i prefer strictly male-female romances, no sharing of partner or menage a trois. If it weren’t her who wrote those books, i wouldn’t read them. But i loveloveLOVE the way she writes. I love her stories: so rich, so fascinating and dark, with sense of humor, very powerful and very touching.

In all fairness, I start reading this book like 5 times…and one night, my baby (who was quite sick) finally feel asleep on my arms. The only book within reach was Outlander. So I started reading it because I just can’t sit still without reading anything.
So I read, it was around midnight, and then before I know it, it was morning, and I was still reading and my baby was still sleeping…and I read and read until I got to the end, and then I read again.
And to think I’d have missed it because the first 60 pages didn’t hook me as fast as TBH or The Tea Rose did.

The only mermaid story I have ever read is THE MERMAID CHAIR. Which by the way is beautiful but wow do I want to get my hands on a copy of this, MERMAIDS KISS. I love the idea of a man needing to be saved. Stories are always written with women having these kinds of issues. Men suffer from the same ailments so I must read this story for myself.
